Montecristo is a family-run El Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant, and as the name implies, features tacos, papusas, burritos, quesadillas, and other "quick" (but not fast) dishes from Mexico and El Salvador, plus a variety of larger platters, which often intermingle the cuisine of both countries. Diners have a choice of about five different egg breakfasts, including the well known Mexican huevos rancheros and guevos with chorizo sausage. All breakfasts are served with refried beans, avocado, El Salvadoran table cream, queso fresco (a soft, white, fresh cheese), and fried sweet plantain. The beverage list consists of Mexican and American sodas, homemade milkshakes, horchata (a sweet rice drink), cashew and mango juices, water, coffee, and a hot corn drink known as atol de elote.
