Chimes Restaurant and Tap Room, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The Chimes Restaurant and Tap Room
3357 Highland Rd
Baton Rouge LA United States

What else can you say? The Chimes is a Baton Rouge institution. Known for its cajun food, it's been at the center of LSU's food and drink culture for years. The Chimes has a beer menu that features 130 beers from around the world (the "Delivery Menu" to the left is actually a link to the beer menu). On the food menu, check out the crab cakes, boudin balls, oysters (on the half shell, oyster are 25 cents a piece every day from 4-7pm and all day on Tuesdays), etoufeee, red beans and rice, and all the seafood dishes. They also invite you to drink "'Round the World." Drink 60 beers from 20 different countries to make your claim to fame and become immortalized on their wall plaque. You will also receive the coveted 'Round the World T-shirt. For private parties and receptions, call and ask about the Wine Cellar. The Chimes web site says they are opening a new location in 2005 on Coursey Blvd.
