Sarang Bahng Korean Restaurant, Penang, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

Sarang Bahng Korean Restaurant
Level 1, Unit 19, Krystal Point Corporate Park, Sungai Nibong
Penang Pulau Pinang Malaysia

The restaurant is due for official opening sometime in May '03 but have been having private tasting functions. The signature dish of the restaurant is the Sam Gye Tang (Korean Ginseng Chicken). Generous portions and a healthy dose of Korean Ginseng, Jujubes, Glutinous Rice stuffed into a tender spring chicken. Soup initially comes clear but diner will be asked to add the roasted sea salt and cut open the spring chicken to release the pwerful aroma of ginseng. This dish is set to give diners a true taste of Korea. The main dish comes with about 7 side dishes and the Kim Chi (traditional Korean pickled cabbage) must not be missed. The other items of the menu are also full course meals (appetizer, mains and dessert) and contains items which you would not normally find in a typical Korean restaurant in Malaysia. Environment was very cozy and enhances the Korean dining experience with Korean dolls, art work decorating the place. Unlike many other Korean restaurants in Malaysia, the price will not be a prohibitive factor. Diners will find that most items on the menu are priced very reasonably.
