The New Tannery came under different ownership in early 2006 and has recently undergone some dramatic changes, improving both food quality and the overall appearance of the nearly 100 year old building. Originally known as the “Tannery Saloon” it was one of the earliest saloon / steak houses in the local area and was a premier spot for dancing and a well known general all around nighttime hangout. Today The New Tannery is the only Tri level bar in Northern Michigan and boasts over 1200 sq ft of dance floor and an upstairs club featuring its own bar. Dining hours typically range from 11:00am – 10:00pm with extended hours on the weekends. With entertainment 4 nights a week, daily lunch and drink specials, a pool table / game room and weekend dinner specials there is always something to do at The New Tannery.
